Keynote Speakers - Kevin Hennah and Dr Jim Mullaney

Kevin Hennah

Kevin Hennah
"I believe presentation standards are critically importantly to libraries. Customers are constantly looking for faster and more efficient ways to meet needs. As consumers, we choose things that look great and are simple to access."
As a Retail Consultant, has been working closely with Public and School Libraries on strategies to maximise productivity of space and improve overall presentation and image. As a speaker, he brings credibility to his presentations by drawing on his experience training over 350 libraries throughout Australia and New Zealand. His ideas are further reinforced by examples of new libraries into which he has had design input. The author of The Victorian Public Libraries’ Image Handbook, Kevin has recently worked on “Re-think”, a new publication with The School Library Association of Victoria. His recent visits to leading UK Libraries also provide a broad perspective on international developments.

Library 2.0 - what the read-write web might mean for libraries?
New collaborative technologies are becoming commonplace in the lives of young people. They interact, communicate and find information in new ways and from new sources. Not only that, but they are able to create, to record and to share their ideas with a community that is widely spread and vast in number. How can libraries, the information hub of our communities, provide structures and tools to facilitate this new way of learning?
